Kapstun Homes was started by a local woman called Heather. She had met many people through her work in the local churches.
She saw a need to help men find accommodation where they could feel safe and get the right kind of support to help them on to independent living.
After spending some time talking to the local authority and other agencies in and around the Erewash area, she decided to launch Kapstun Homes in 2006. She opened 2, 4-bed houses near to Ilkeston town centre.
After speaking with the Pastor at Ilkeston Baptist Church she opened an office within the church building.
In 2023 the company was sold to a new owner who continues to operate on the same principles laid down by Heather since 2006.
